Alright, we still have a few spots open for this event! If you are interested in signing up for this roomshare, OR you are currently signed up and havn't paid, Now is the time! Temp spots will expire March 2nd, 2008! It would be very helpful for us to pay as soon as possible, as this will not only help assure that we can still maintain the two rooms we requested, but also allow those who are interested and willing to pay to be able to do so!

I'm going to try not to be longwinded about this.

We've had trolls here for a while, and at first, my attitude toward it has been one of ambivalence. I am a strong supporter of the freedom of expression, as well as personal responsibility. It never seemed necessary to me to punish people unless they got out of hand and began creating a major distraction from the purpose of the boards. Otherwise, individuals could feel free to ignore them as they pleased.

Now things are getting out of hand, and I'm going to be tightening down. It's very unfortunate, but there you go.

I am offering a ride share for the trip From Louisville, KY to Schaumburg, IL. Estimated Miles (RoundTrip) ~700Miles.

The Kentucky Anthropomorphic Society will be hosting another roomshare for the Midwest FurFest (MFF) Convention in Chicago. If you are interested in signing up for this room share, please checkout the current topic we have created : HERE

Spots for this convention are going fast, as there is no available hotel space currently left in the main hotel. Thankfully we were able to obtain 2 rooms in the main hotel!

For those interested in getting some volunteer hours in and have a lot of fun, the Louisville Zoo is hosting there annual 'Worlds Largest Halloween Festival' for children under 12.  The Zoo needs many volunteers throughout the October month to help assist with running this event.  Anyone who attends is encouraged to wear a costume (albeit not scary!)

It was very nice to meet everyone yesterday at the Putt-putt meet. It was good to have new contacts established and renewed. Talk generated several possible ideas for future Louisville meets and options were included but not limited to:

First Friday Downtown Trolley Hop

FAT Friday Frankfort Ave Trolley Hop

Picnic/Frisbess Golf/Utlimate Frisbee at Iroquois Park [or other surrouding area parks]

Kart Country

Halloween Party [see Darktiger for more information on that]

Holiday Celebration Potluck [in the works, more details to come]

If anyone has any more ideas for things that we do locally, please toss them out. Suggestions are welcome and encouraged.

And again, it was great to meet everyone yesterday. And it feels good to know there are more local furries in the area then just our little posse.

Here's the plan:
- Saturday August 25th in Louisville-

Have a furry shootout at Knob Creek:
11am starting time.

I'll have a couple of guns and be more than willing to share my guns and ammo with those who are interested, although entrance to the range is $9 a head.

Follow up with dinner at some place, decided on the fly, en route to Lexington.

-Saturday late and/or Sunday [early] in Lexington-

Have a meetup in Lexington the likes of which hasn't been had since the olden days with features including, but not limited to:
- Clubbing
- Hanging out on my back porch and smoking from a hookah, for those that are interested, along with hors d'oeuvres and other stuff for those who aren't.
- Having a hotel room party where those who are interested (and legally permitted) can get incapacitated and crash

Summary:
August 25th meet at Knob Creek by 11am, shoot until close, return to Lexington and party out!

What is this? Wertle crawls out from under the woodwork to post about an upcoming event? The answer is yes!

What: Rooftop Benefit Concert for Ohio Valley Creative Energy

When: Wednesday, August 1st from 7pm-11pm

Where: The roof of Glassworks (815 West Market Street, Louisville, KY)

Admission is $7 (All proceeds go to OVCE).

A bit more info: Ohio Valley Creative Energy is an organization of artists working to build an arts facility to run off methane gas from the Clark/Floyd County Landfill. The goal is to create affordable resources for working artists, to bring community arts to the area, and to help the environment. The concert will feature the musical talents of Bryan Scary and the Shredding Tears**, Tigercity, and DJ A.Bell
